We do NOT condone illegal downloading.

I'm trying to watch top gear, and I (stupidly) downloaded the 1080i version, and its of course interlaced, I HATE YOU STUPID INTERLACING.

it really irks me. especially in shows with lots of motion like Top Gear,

VLC's deinterlacing does okay, buts not as good as 1080p

I'm gonna be deinterlacing this in Handbrake once I'm done watching it.

I have a feeling it is because they can not condone anything illegal (even if they themselves download illegally, which I have a feeling they do).

I'm not saying its right, but I still do it anyway. my theory is, I can record it anyway on my DVR (yes I do have BBC America), and then if I really wanted to keep it, record it via a capture card, which I also have, or I can download it, and its quite a lot faster downloading a torrent, vs waiting for it to record via capture card.

Or you could watch it straight off the BBC website with the help of Hola or some nifty app that makes them think you're in the UK

I do occasionally use hola for iPlayer, but its too unreliable on my computer.

Agreed. Invest in a $50k 3d printer + computer + software. Get $50k in materials and print the 250 GTO, F40, GT40, Atom and the peel.
